WHAT TO BUY FIRST FOR MY EMPTY NEW RENTAL? + FREE PRINTABLE

what to buy first

As I told you here, we don’t own any furniture or appliances. Thus, because we are moving to an empty rental for the first time in our adult lives, we need to buy some stuff.
So… what should we buy first for our empty new rental? What things do we absolutely need and what others can wait? Do we really need a couch in the first week of moving in? Maybe not… Do we really need a mattress and bed linen? Yeah… probably we do.
The best way to avoid being overwhelmed with this new adventure is being prepared, so I decided to make a list of things that we need and a list of things that will come with time. For that I even made a PRIORITIES SHOPPING LIST! Keep reading…

THE FIRST THING TO DO AFTER MOVING TO A NEW RENTAL+ FREE PRINTABLE INVENTORY

T&T_first thing

Since the time we became independent grownups paying our own bills, we’ve lived already in 7 different apartments! Some were in better condition than others but all of them were completely furnished and equipped. In most of the houses we occupied we had the luck of having nice and trustworthy landlords with whom we could talk and ask for some improvements or freedom to do some small bits of decoration. THE BLOG’S NEW SCHEDULE

Hi there! How is your 2016 starting? Mine is really slow, even though I made a lot of plans! I’m still trying to put things in order and adapt to our new life in Berlin, living with all my stuff yet to unpack, without a routine whatsoever… Oh well… What I plan not always corresponds to the slow and bureaucratic reality.

I have great plans for this little blog of mine, but those depend mostly of our renting situation, that finally, oh finally, got solved! But I’ll tell you all about that in other occasion. For now, I want to introduce some changes around packmahome.

You see, when I started this blog I wanted to go slow and slowly find my pace. I wanted to see how far I could go and discover what I was willing to do to grow the blog (you can read my blog manifesto to see what I’m talking about).

After almost four months of posting regularly once a week I truly believe I’m capable of doing more. I found my own rhythm, I still feel highly motivated and I’m quite sure that I have what it takes to create more original content on a more frequent basis, like let’s say twice a week 😉 soooo…

Take note, from now on this is the blog’s new schedule:

I’m posting twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays!

Stay tuned!

FREE PRINTABLE FEBRUARY CALENDAR AND PLANNER

I wanted to send a printable February calendar and planner directly to my subscribers, but I completely forgot it in my last newsletter… So instead I’m give it away for free to everyone that stumbles with this post 😉 Also, because February is just there around the corner, I had to publish today, even if it’s a non publishing day at packmahome, just after I published my blog manifesto yesterday.

BLOG MANIFESTO

manifesto packmahome

I thought it was a nice idea to do a manifesto for packmahome. Since I’m taking this blogging thing seriously now, I found it useful to put in one place what I think about blogging and particularly about my blog. I made a poster, I printed it and put it on my wall so I can look at it and remember my principles. Keep reading…

NOMAD TALES #3: ANTONIO LAFUENTE

NT_Antonio Lafuente

Antonio is Lucía’s husband. You can read the story of how we met here. It is really amazing how we connected so easily and fast! It looks like we’ve been friends all our lives! I’ll miss them deeply when I leave.
I interviewed Antonio separately from Lucía because although they’ve been together for so many years, they have different backgrounds and stories from when they were just kids. Keep reading…

LIFE STATUS UPDATE: THE PAST TWO YEARS IN REVIEW AND WHAT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW

TEMPLATE NT

Oh man… I’m struggling here! I don’t even know where to begin. I want to tell you about my life in the past two years, what is really happening right now, I want to share our plans for the coming months, our next moves… I want to make a life update but I truly don’t know how I should write this. I can’t even figure out a title for this post! Keep reading…

LUCERNE, SWITZERLAND: A DAY WITH AN OLD FRIEND

WG_Lucerne

This past Monday my husband had some meetings in Ulm, Germany, so we took the chance to make a long weekend getaway. We didn’t want to make a straight 6 hours road trip with Olivia, so we decided to stop on our way at Lucerne, where we would spend the day with a dear friend we hadn’t seen since our wedding, almost 5 years ago! KIDS BEDROOMS STYLING INSPIRATION

INSP_kids bedrooms

I’m eager to decorate Olivia’s bedroom! I think it will be a pleasure to assemble her room and finally give my daughter a space of her own. I want her room to be multi-functional and that it can grow with her, during all her stages and facing all her needs. I also want that if a brother or a sister comes along, the room can easily adapt to the siblings. So every piece of furniture has to be bought considering all of these aspects. That’s why planning and getting inspired is so important! Keep reading…
